The Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences study abroad trip to China.

Students and others on the Great Wall of China in 2008.
Through a semester course orientation and a travel course to China, students will learn basic terminology, concepts and issues associated with the idea of globalization and gain an introduction to China’s role in the global economy and the ecological impact of China’s rapid development. The trip features a cruise on the Yangzi River, departing from the mega-city of Chongqing (pop. 33 million), visits to rural farms and villages, and interaction with college students at Zhejiang University, all of which will help students to better understand the social, economic, and ecological impact of the Three Gorges Dam project specifically and China’s amazing transformation over the past decade.
